Unvisibility report of the December total lunar eclipse

Observed phenomena: Lunar eclipse
Type of eclipse: Total
Type of observation: Negative
Date and time: 10.12.2011, 16:00
Observing place: Sodankylä, Finland
Observing conditions: Cloudy sky, snowing

Weather conditions were poor during last night’s lunar eclipse. The sky was cloudy and it was snowing at least at the time of maximum of the eclipse (around 4 pm). Later in the evening, around 10pm, the cloud cover had became slightly transparent, so that the Moon was visible, but the eclipse was already over then. But it was still snowing!

So this means, that I wasn’t able to see any total lunar eclipses this year. Next one will be in 2015, hopefully conditions are more favourable then!

And I realized that it has also been one year anniversary for Celestial Sphere -blog! The exact date was actually 6th of December.
