Observing site: Kuru, Ylöjärvi, Finland
Instrument: L102/1000mm (4” Refractor)
Weather: Clear sky, some high clouds
Objects observed: Venus
Planet Venus was still visible during the nights of early May at low altitude in NW sky. I observed Venus in 8th of May at 23:25, and then Venus appeared as a thin crescent. I made the observation in Soljastensuo -wetlands area, which is situated in SW corner of the Seitseminen nationalpark, Finland. While I was doing the observation, the sky was already light, NELM was about ~3. The air was a bit chilly, and frogs were having a noisy concert in the swamp – which made very exotic atmosphere to the light spring night!
