A well-developed Lunar corona 25.1.2013

Observed phenomena: Lunar corona
Date: 25.1.2013
Time: 01:09-01:14
Observing place: Kuru, Ylöjärvi, Finland
Observing method: Photography
Technical information about photographing equipment: Camera: Canon EOS 1100D, lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS

There has been coronas around the Moon almost every night during this week, but tonight’s corona was really the most stunning of them all! This corona was perfectly round in shape and it was very bright. Outside the aureola, there was one ring visible with naked eye, but more rings became visible in the photos. This corona was without a doubt the best so far this year, and this one was just like a dart board in the sky, at least in the photos! The three first photos of this gallery have been made out of several exposures (HDR method) to make both the Moon and the outer parts of the corona visible in the same image. The two last photos are stacked, non-HDR photos.
